Why Calicen cycles protein

Calicen does not treat one protein intake as ideal forever. Lower and higher blocks create different, time-limited biological priorities.

Lower-protein blocks

Turn down growth signalling

  • Lower amino-acid availability reduces nutrient and mTOR growth signalling.
  • This creates a repair-and-recycling-oriented signal; evidence for longevity mechanisms is strongest in model systems.
  • Calicen uses this as a temporary state, not permanent protein restriction.

Higher-protein blocks

Support rebuilding and muscle

  • More amino-acid substrate supports muscle protein synthesis.
  • It supports recovery and adaptation from resistance training.
  • It helps preserve or build lean mass during the growth-oriented blocks.

The protocol value is in the alternation: reduce the growth signal when the block calls for it, then deliberately provide more building material when training and recovery demand it.
