What Relative Fat Mass adds

RFM uses waist in relation to height and was developed as a simple alternative estimate of whole-body fat percentage.

Its greatest value here is repeatability: use the same tape position and conditions, then follow the direction of change.

Formula used

Male RFM (%) = 64 − (20 × height cm ÷ waist cm)

Female RFM (%) = 76 − (20 × height cm ÷ waist cm)
